The folks at the Marina were awesome and it was easily the highlight of our visit - we will absolutely be coming back to rent kayaks and spend a few days on the lake.
It should be noted that the road to get in and out of the area was in terrible condition. It's not the fault of the Cabins or Marina but it was clear that it hasn't been maintained in a few years - and the community and/or town has done nothing to fix the excessive potholes and eroded gradation. Our cabin was probably the oldest one available and, while we were comfortable, there was clear water damage in the kitchenette that had not been repaired and a smell of mold in the closet. We feel that this did not hinder our experience but we were concerned that other visitors may not be as laid back to the obvious negligent maintenance of the older cabin as we were.
Thank you Long Cove Resort for the wonderful weekend! Our group was quite impressed with the "tiny house" cabins and beautiful views. We rented two cabins for the weekend and loved having a grill right outside our cabin. We enjoyed several camp fires at night! It was a great time of togetherness and teamwork. The first of many visits to Long Cove!
We had a house fire around Christmas, being a family with 4 little kids the hotel was not fun. We found the cabins online and Rebekah worked things out amazingly well for us. The cabins are great, the area is beautiful, had fun walking around the lake with the kids. I hope to come back in summer time. Only complaint from the kids is WiFi is slow lol
Spent a week vacation staying at a cabin by the lake. Much better view than a hotel and great for those in love with nature. Suitable for those less inclined for nature also, if you insist on electricity running water and flushable toilets. But for those that like to rough it, you can even through up a tent.
This is definitely one of North Carolina's best kept secrets, my fiance and I will be returning with more family. Love the fact that it's in the middle of the city so you get the best of both worlds. The Premium Outlets and restaurants are 15 minutes away but the campgrounds are tucked away so well that you do not get the feeling of being in the city. The staff was very sweet and accommodating the cabins are so cute they definitely give you the feeling of tiny homes but the lay out makes it roomy and it gives you everything you need. The only thing that I wish we had more information on was the hiking trails and the date and times for when the Boating Shack is open.
My wife and I stayed here for a week in one of the older cabins and had a great time. We were located right next to the dock and were pleasantly surprised at the lack of noise from other people coming and going. The staff were eager to help us navigate the area and gave us many recommendations for local attractions. The grounds were well kept and pest-free.
